Exercise physiology testing and training

We would all like to cycle like Bradley Wiggins, however most of us can't spare 6 hrs a day training, spend 5 months a year at a Tenerife training camp and have a fleet of £10,000 Pinarello bikes at our disposal. At Tempo physiotherapy we understand you have families and careers and that training time is short and valuable. However, that doesn't mean you can't improve or maximise your potential, whether its to complete a charity ride, beat a personal best in a sportive or just not be last up the climb on club rides. We believe in training smarter not longer.

Performance testing is a crucial part of training. It provides a current snapshot of your fitness level and allows you to train at the correct intensities to improve performance within the limited time available to you. 

Based on the Carmichael Training system, we will establish your heart rate training zones using a repeated 8 minute sub maximal test on a turbo trainer and provide workouts based on your highest average heart rate achieved within the test.

These workouts are typically 60-90 minutes long and are ideal for midweek training sessions to supplement the longer weekend rides and are ideally suited to enlivening indoor or gym training sessions.
